“Her son’s pregnancy had been a high risk one for her, and had nearly killed her.”

Is it just me, or is that sentence just…silly?

Did you perchance (like me) wonder what her son was doing getting pregnant? *g*

This by the way, was from a freebie book being offered by Phaze.

I’m currently trying to work out how many times I can mention Phaze on my blog before I’m accused of launching a witch hunt. *g*

Perhaps that would explain the ‘high risk’ part of the pregnancy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’m assuming the freebies don’t get edited before being posted?

I guess it’s worth overlooking if the rest of the story is entertaining.

Barbara, apparently it gets edited by non-Phaze editors.

    Barbara,

You assume right. So far as I know they aren’t edited except by the author.

Karen, if you ever run out of stories to comment on… Yeah, right, like that is every likely. Between published, free and fan fiction, nobody will ever run out.

Either I’m failing to type the word verification appropriately or Karen is harboring a secret agenda against me. Or is this thing moderated? One more try.

    Karen,

Iโ€™m a writer of the ridiculous. Vampires, weres, the conspiracy of the High Priest of Terta to take over Thais. I see conspiracy all around me and write really long novels about it. My next character shall henceforth be called Karen. And she shall be involved in an insidious plot concerning a pink dildo, the attempted assassination of Winnie the Pooh, and taking over the local Starbucks. And members of the Opus Dei are really behind it.

Be warned, Karen, I know what youโ€™re up to.

Make it a lilac/purple dildo, and then we can talk details.

HA! You shall not silence or trick me, Karen. Verily, even though you wield the pink (er-okay, itโ€™s lilac though I protest that I favor black at this point) dildo of Enciflagram!

Silencing the conspiracy of male pregnancy and trying to prevent me from posting is only the start. Mark my works all you who read here. Itโ€™s just the beginning!

And Opus Dei is really behind it. I have proof Karen receives millions in secretly transferred Swiss funds from them.

You must warn Walt Disney before she attempts to silence me again.

I don’t think it’s a witch hunt. I write for Phaze but have never submitted a freebie ’cause I’m cheap that way. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I don’t think the freebies are edited since the editors have enough work to do just getting the paid books ready.

I’m sorry. That was me up there. I don’t have a Blogger account–at least, I don’t have one that I can remember–but I don’t want anybody to think I’m a Phaze anonymouse spamming the forum to make trouble. My name is L.E. Bryce. My website is http://www.lebryce.com.

But if the publisher is offering unedited freebies with clunky writing, errors etc., doesn’t it stand to reason that whoever picks up these freebies will come away with the impression that all the books for sale there are of similar quality?

This entice the readers thing may backfire.

Maybe the character is a hermaphrodite? Hmm…then again can hermaphrodites reproduce? *scratches head*

I’m sure her son’s pregnacy would go fine. It’s that whole delivery part of the process that would be a bitch. ๐Ÿ˜‰
