Dark Eden Press are closing.

The official statement from Debra, the owner of DEP, has been reposted here.

Apparently she has cancer.

  • How sad for her, her family and her authors.

But this could serve as a lesson to some. There are ways to do things, even something as awful as this, with class.

  • Has any of the other epublishers considered mass purchasing the DEP authors’ books/rights and carrying them on their own website or is this a no-no in the industry? Just a thought…

I think somebody already asked this question, but I’m not sure it’s been answered yet. I wondered the same thing too.

    Karen,

No one has asked me about a mass purchase of any contracts. They have asked me about giving the contracts to them and earning a % off the sales, someone asked if I would merge DEP with their company, and one or two other things. But no, no mass purchase has been requested.
