Soooo….
…Is Venus Press really trying to relaunch?
Surely it would have been a better idea to open up under a different name, with the current name being so tainted and all?
Thanks to KS for the heads up.

Tainted? Sorry, I don’t know the background. |

And thus why relaunching won’t hurt them. Many people don’t remember how the owner deserted the company…and their authors. |

I find this page really interesting: http://venuspress.com/Employment.htm. Anyone remember if the positions were such when they closed? The grammar is rather strange, much like I’d think a non-native English speaker would have. I wonder if the old owner sold the company, because I can’t imagine she’d truly think she’d succeed now after falling off the face of the earth and leaving the poor authors and staff in such a lurch 2 years ago. |

The Venus Press author loop and reader loop on Yahoo were never deleted after they went under. Pretty convenient that they already have a reader group. |

The marketing director must know how to use a phone, y’all. High standards with this one, obviously. Darn, there goes my chance to snag a marketing position, I never did learn how to work those newfangled phone contraptions. |

I counted FIVE major grammar/wrong word choices on this page…and I wasn’t even looking for them very closely. Anyone who submits to this place is asking for trouble, IMO. |

Hmmm. Verra odd sounding employment page. Lots of typos, or created by someone not overly familiar with English. Also, I wonder how many of those places listed under “Friends of Venus Press” still wish to be listed there. Interesting. |

I was getting ready to submit a book to Romance Design. When you copy their submission link…it comes up Venus Press. Thank goodness I found your discussion and remembered it before I hit the send key! |
