Amazon God Complex: They’ve Stripped All Gay/Erotic Fiction Of Sales Rankings..

When did Amazon.com turn into a bunch of right-wing lunatics? How the fuck did that happen?
Smartbitch Sarah tweeted earlier that Amazon have begun systematically stripping all gay & lesbian fiction, and erotic fiction of their Amazon sales rankings.
Jaci Burton, Shannon Stacey, Maya Banks and Larissa Ione have reportedly lost their Amazon rankings on some of their books.
They’ve also targeted gay non-fiction. WTF?
This was their explanation when questioned by an author who found his books had also been stripped:
In consideration of our entire customer base, we exclude “adult” material from appearing in some searches and best seller lists. Since these lists are generated using sales ranks, adult materials must also be excluded from that feature.

Like seriously, who thought this was a good idea?
They’re basically saying that consumer sales don’t matter. They’re basically saying that if ten million people decided to buy an erotic or gay novel, it wouldn’t make a blind bit of difference. They must protect the public from themselves at all costs, whilst negatively impacting any author who writes gay or erotic fiction.
This is what happens when a company gets too big for its boots.
There should be a universal boycott of Amazon and their services, for this latest bit of fuckwittery, but unfortunately, they offer cheap books, delivered to your door, and quite frankly, some readers just don’t give a flying monkey’s bollocks.
For this bit of flaming ass-hattery my dear Amazon, you have earned the privileged title of Fucktards Of The Month.
I swear, they’ll get their just desserts one day.
