The Tall Guy and I have been busy this weekend, hence the lack of blog entries. We’ve been visiting friends and family, and enjoying the sun.
This weekend we’ve been to Dartford and Northampton. All I can say is that I’m so glad I didn’t have to drive…
I did have time to start reading a book or two (mostly during the car journeys) but unfortunately, I just don’t think I’m going to be able to finish them any time soon. Yeah, basically the books were rubbish! If I manage to finish them, I might review them on here, if not, they’ll probably be forever relegated to my ‘Unfinished’ Books shelf.

Hope you had a good time Karen. And reading while you are in a movie car, bravo for you! I get car sick if I try that. Which is a real shame since my wife and I spend 9 to 10 hours in the car driving to see my folks. (Guess that’s why they invented audio books.)

Why won’t you finish the books? Because you’re busy or they are boring?

Doesn’t it suck looking forward to a book and then starting to read it and it sucks… then having to put it down unfinished because you just can’t bear to slog through the entire thing? I so hate that when that happens. Care to mention the titles so I don’t make the mistake of reading them?

Scott, I love reading whilst Paul’s driving. It just makes a long journey seem so much shorter. I think I really should get into the whole audio books phenomenon.
Paz the books were very boring, I just couldn’t get into them. I don’t know if it was because the books were bad or if it had more to do with the fact that I’m a little bored with romance books at the moment. I seem to be reading more mystery and crime books just lately.
Anne the books were The Halo Effect by MJ Rose, and The One That Got Away by Jo Leigh. I usually enjoy Jo Leigh’s blaze titles, but I just couldn’t get into this one, it was just much of the same muchness.
I think I’m going through a bored-with-romance phase at the moment

Ahhh! Yes, a reading drought/slump… That happens sometimes. My friend has a better description for it. You’ll probably need a really good romance story to bring you out of it. Does Sarah McCarty have anything coming out soon (or one of your other favorite authors?)? *g*
At the moment, I’m reading mysteries too. Discovered two authors whose work I’m really having fun with.
I also meant to ask you: I noticed the other day that you had posted that you were reading one of Maya Angelou’s books (I forget the title). I love her stories. I’ve read all her books in the memoir set. All are important, but if I had to choose one book, it would be “All God’s Children Have Travelling Shoes.” Absolutely LOVED it. After reading it, that’s the book that got me searching for her other work. How did you like the book you read?
Happy Reading,
Paz (Who has to finish reading a book even if she doesn’t like it)
