I see JW Mckenna has a new book out with EC. (Sorry, I refuse to link here, if you want to look, go to EC)
Why doesn’t he ever show his versatility as a writer and write something other than heavy BDSM with the female being the dom rather than the pathetic sub who apparently gets off when she’s beaten, and humiliated, oops, that’s another of his books, shit, I just get too confused. (g)
Needless to say, after sampling a couple of his books, I shan’t be going there again. Yech.

Lol, I went to Ellorascave and read the blurb, it sounds exactly like all her other books including those with Extasy. I made the grave mistake of buying The Politician’s Wife, it was a wallbanger alright, and was typical of her other books.

LOL… Karen, I take it you don’t like this author? I’ve never read any of those books, but BDSM really isn’t my thing unless it’s very, VERY light.

Hi Mel, I hate his books with a passion, I’m probably being a little mean spirited but his books bring out the staunch feminist out in me! By the way, she’s a he.
If BDSM isn’t your thing Anne, then I wouldn’t advise you read any his books, they’ll just make you too mad.
Jenn, I agree, one of these days he’ll google search his name and find me slagging his books off at every opportunity, that’s if somebody hasn’t told him about my dissing his books yet (g)

I could add something about having been edited by him (when he was head editor for EC’s non-existent Ghede), but I would somehow (and undeservedly) catch hell, I’m sure.
I haven’t read any of his titles and never knowingly will.
And…re: visibility (yeah, 2 for the price of 1) — I would disagree about picking your level of visibility…there are times you can key it up or down, but it’s a bit of a circle. If I jump up and down (and on and on) for a long time, or am in a line of people (your football wives in training) jumping up and down…that conscious effort to be visible isn’t noticed. Not to mention I abhor most of the visibility tactics.
And if I am trying to increase my visibility and get silence…wow…slam…bye for 3 or 4 months. Some quiet people will always be noticed (well…”quiet” has to have it’s own definition for internet purposes) and some noisy people quickly become invisible without ever quieting down.Think there are too many dynamics, including other “visibles” and the audience, and segments of the audience, for it to be characterized left or right. (Long week, hope no one was hoping for comprehensibility.)

AnnV, everytime I check out EC, I growl like crazy when I see his latest release!
I detest his writing with a passion!
Go on, do tell about his editing, I promise I wont tell a soul! (g)

Well…I’ll just put in the objective example…from the editor comments on Tentacles (now Goblin Market 2005 from eXtasy)
“Do you hate men or is that just Francesca?”
Lovely thing to ask one of your authors, eh?

You should have asked him if he hated women or was it just the ‘Master’ in Darkest Hour. I wrote to him telling him that that book was the single worst book I’d read in ten years. He called it a romance, it was nothing of the sort.
In fact if you want to read my comments you can find them here:

I was beginning to think I was alone in my bordome verging/growing into dislike for the whole submissive woman – Dom male theme EC seems to be indulging (or should that be wallowing?)in lately. It’s sad, they used to be one of my biggest purchas sites and I havent bought anything from them in months. Their cover blurbs are all starting to sound the same…
