Ooooh I do Like a Man In Black…. Posted by Picasa

The Tall Guy and I just got back from seeing Batman Begins at the cinema… It’s official, I’m in love with Christian Bale, my very own tortured hero… He can be in my menage with LL Cool J and his abs, sorry Tom, the whole Scientology thing kinda freaked me out…

I think I must have a penchant for good vs evil anti-heroes in black rubber outfits, the Batboy totally made me want to shuck my clothes and run nekkid whenever he donned his batsuit, meowwwwwwl!!!

Definitely the best Batman, and you know Morgan Freeman always adds credibility to any film… If I was a few years older, I’d do him too….

As much as I liked Michael Keaton as Batman, I have to say that I think Christian Bale was better. And not only Morgan Freeman adding credibility, but Michael Caine and Liam Neeson, too.

I haven’t seen the new Batman yet, but when I do it’ll be nice to see Christian Bale playing a role where I don’t feel duty bound to hate the character.

Christian Bale is very easy on the eyes.

I have been in love with him for a long time. I’m not surprised that this movie is good with him in it. The only movie I haven’t seen with him in it is The Machinist, where he drops about 60 lbs and becomes a skeleton. He looks so scary and gross.

First of all, I LOVE LL Cool J’s abs. My God …

Second of all, Bale is mine. Sorry.

Scott, Liam Neeson is a tremendous actor isn’t he? Of the old Batman flicks, I thought Keaton was the best too!

Adrienne, wasn’t he fantastic in American Pyscho? His portrayal of the off-his-rocker Patrick Bateman was fab!! Me and hubby watched the DVD again yesterday, it reminded us what a great actor he is.

Somethingsicantsay, the only good ex-Batman was Michael Keaton.

Anne, you’ll have to get your hubby to restrain you, he was totally yummy, he had amazing screen presence.

Indida, I haven’t seen The Machinist, but I may just have to go to Blockbuster later this week!

Jill, I’m sorry honey, but you’re gonna have to fight me for him (g)

Des, let me know what you think of the movie.

Dakota, poor you, getting my sloppy seconds! (g)

Haven’t seen the movie, Karen. But he looks good. The absolute worst Batman IMO was Val Kilmer (something about his lips grosses me out).

BUT re it being wrong to fancy someone, I experienced this the other night when I was watching Jack Straw being interviewed. Is it just me, or has he become better looking since he ditched the glasses?

Dawn Val Kilmer was truly terrible!

As for Jack Straw…. Ewww, no way!! That’s just wronger than wrong can be, spectacles or no spectacles! He reminds me of John “these peas are nice Norma” Major!

Me again, since you asked me to tell you what I thought of the movie.
Ever go to see something, totally expecting it to be one thing..find out it isn’t.. and are ecstatic that it’s NOT? That was Batman Begins for me!! NO Tim Burton glitzy-type attempt at dark noir! Here we have a really dark, sexy protagonist, and a very convincing futuristic storyline. The dialogue is human, the characters human, and the antagonists’ aims honestly scary. No clown-faced Joker or ink-lipped Penguin can give the same level of creeps like an honest-to-goodness terrorist disguising his zealot beliefs behind a pretense of “What the world needs”. Just can’t be done.
Excellent premise; prime cast. I counted four Oscar winners in the lineup. And very happy to see Gary Oldman throwing off the “weirdo” role for awhile to play one of the good guys. (Loved him in Dracula). And the star of Batman Begins? Oh, my.. I was wondering what he’d do after Velvet Goldmine! I was very impressed by Christian Bale’s performance, and downright loved the film!!

I’m glad you enjoyed the film Des, I thought it was brilliant too. I love the way he managed to turn the Scarecrow, into something quite realistic. He totally got the feel of what Batman was originally about. I shivered with excitement all the way through the film. I hope that the campy Batman flicks of old are gone forever.

Well, I’ll share a secret: I loved the old Batman series! I always admired Adam West as a human being, and always will 🙂
