This is awful. I still don’t know if my friends made it or not. Last I heard they intended to ride it out in Arabi, just south east of New Orleans proper, instead of bugging out to Shreveport. The not knowing it the worst part.

Now the question is: is there anything for them to go home to? He seemed doubtful that the house or business survived the storm. It’s going to be a minimum of two weeks before they can head back to find out – according to the disaster coordinators, possibly longer.
They’ve got a long road ahead, but at least they’re all ok.

It is! Though we had no loved ones there, my DH lived there for four years and is mourning the loss of alot of memories.
Nature always wins, you know? It’s got time on its side. So sad. And so humbling.
