OK, I can admit when I’m wrong.

I’ve had three of Nora Ro- er JD Robb’s ‘In Death’ books on my TBR list forever. I had to go to the Doctor’s on Wednesday, so I randomly selected Judgment In Death to keep me from passing out from boredom, whilst I was sat in the waiting room.

And thank Lucifer I did. Nora, even if I never read any of your other books again, as we speak, I am now ordering every single In Death book you have out.

Yes folks, I fucking LOVED it!!!

Eve and Roarke rock!!!

All I have to do now is to start where I should have started in the first place. At the beginning. I believe the first book is Naked In Death…

Lol!!! I’ve just gone to Amazon, and ordered the seven other In Death books. I promise you Anne, you will just LOVE Roarke!

I’m forgetting my TBR pile, like I did with Catherine Anderson, I’ll be reading JD Robb books until I get through them all!

Erm, not ‘the seven’ (cuz there’s more than 10 of ’em) but simply seven other In Death books!

There are 20 In Death books, 2 short stories and a 2-in-1 with a Nora Roberts novel – with another one coming out early next year.

I’m glad you liked Judgement in Death – the series kicks ass big time, and the character development is extremely well done IMO

May the New Year bring health, happiness and prosperity to you and your loved ones, and your readers.

    Salud!

I’m glad you finally read one, Karen. Naked in Death is one of my favorite all time books- and probably the one most re-read. I love the entire series and actually, the last released (Origin in Death) is comparably as strong as the first. I look forward to the next in the series releasing at the end of the month! So happy to have a convert to the JD Robb fanclub 🙂

Well, I’m psyched now.. I checked online with my local library, and they have them ALL!!!! Woo hoo! I’ll get the first two and if I like them, then I’ll read the rest… we’ll have to see how it goes. I’ll probably end up doing what I do with all other Nora Roberts books…. Buy them all *G*

Like you, I’m off Nora Roberts but her writing as JD Robb is riveting. I’ve read the whole series – at least twice. Some (such as Naked – I’m with AngieW there) I’ve read numerous times. And they are even better if you start with Naked and read them in order – if possible. She is a genius with the way she has slowly made Eve come to life over the course of the books.
Ooohhhh I’m giddy with delight that another reader has come to the Death side!!!!
And to Anne, since you are a gong to be a newbie to the fold, they are best read in order

It’s funny, I was always hesitant about reading Nora until I picked up Naked in Death in the waiting room when I was pregnant with my toddler! I love the books and am axiously awaiting the next one!

But I like Nora too although I was less than impressed with the Garden trilogy. The Ardmore books and the key books are two of my favorite trilogies (oh and the Born in books)

But only one of her heroes ever comes close to Roarke, sigh.

I’m with everyone here. You MUST read Naked in Death and report back. I too have read it multiple times and it is one of my all time favorite books. Roarke is to die for, probably one of the best heros ever. The developing relationship between Eve and Roarke is excellent so I suggest you read them in order. I’ve read them all and am looking forward to the newest one coming out this month.

Azteclady, no doubt I’ll be spending lots of money on these books! Thank you, and a Happy New Year to you too!

Hi Angie, I’m starting Naked In Death Tonight, I know I’m just gonna love it. I better had anyway, cuz I just spent £40 ($70) on the books that I’ve just bought!

Anne, you’re ok, at least they’ll be relatively cheap over there, plus easily available. It’s a nightmare getting old books over here!!

Jenn, which Jenn are you? Are you Reviewer Jenn or Slut-Ho Jenn? It’s all very confusing, especially as both youR initials are JB!

    Lucky cow Anne!!

Kristie, Eve just kicked ass, and I love those kind of heroines the best!

Lauren, if it hadn’t been for the Doctor’s visit, I wouldn’t have discovered what a gem JID was! Now hopefully, I have the same thing with Dan Brown’s book!

    Happy New Year Paz!

Rosario, I know I’m gonna love this series. She’ll become my new Patricia Cornwell!

Renee, I will read them in order now, I just picked up JID as a last resort!

Ro, I told ya, you’d like Sarah Mccarty’s books, which ones have you read? Happy New year puta!

Have to jump in on this one Karen. I deliberately walked past this “futuristic, police procedural” category series for years. Then, one day in desperation, resigned myself to reading Naked in Death. I spent the next three months reading the entire series to the exclusion of all else. Eve and Roarke stand as my favorite H and H of all time. I’m going to sit back and enjoy YOU enjoying them! LOL

JD Robb’s In Death series is very good. I was hooked from time I read Interlude in Death which was in the Out of this World anthology. After that I went out and bought them all. This is also how I found another author I came to love Laurell K. Hamilton

Enjoy you In Death Books Karen and welcome to the club. LOL. Let us know how you like the rest of the books.

Hi Jennifer, I have loads of books on my TBR, but like you, I will probably spend the next two months catching up on all her In Death books. Judgment In Death was so brilliantly written, that I know I wont be sorry.
Like you, I didn’t think I’d be interested in a ‘futuristic police procedural’ either, and I’m so glad I was ill enough to go to the Doctor’s, or else, it would still be languishing on my TBR!

Mckenna, I’m probably going to pre-order Memory In Death if I can. When it comes to books I love, I hate to wait!

Taige, I’ve never read LKH, I want to, but I’m never interested in any of her blurbs!

Karen, while I understand completely the pull of the newest book in a series you’ve just fallen in love with, I’m going to dare beg you to make sure you read them in order, at least the first time (yes, I re-read my keeper books to the point they would fall apart if I weren’t such a careful owner -mother’s a librarian, dontcha know?) erm… where was I? Oh yes…!
The relationships between Eve and Roarke, Even and Mira,, Eve and Peabody, Eve and Feeney, Even and… Roarcke and… Well, they just grow organically, and JDRobb does a wonderful job at keeping Eve as kickass on the last one as she was written on the first, and Roarke just as dreamy and to die for, while continuing to give them depth and breadth. Great writing.

    Karen,

Happy New Year! Great interview with Lisa Valdez. I too cannot wait for Patience to come out this August. I’m hoping to get a freebie at RWA National in Atlanta. About Nora Roberts/JD Robb, I love Eve and Roarke. In fact, I think I love her JD Robb books more than I do her Nora Roberts books.
