I’m pissed off.
The Tall Guy and I discovered last night that £2000 ($3700) had been fraudulently withdrawn from our bank account.
Apparently the thieves somehow managed to acquire our pin code, and must have cloned our cards, seeing as we never let them out of our sight. Sigh. The cash withdrawals happened on Sunday evening.
Fucking bastards. We ought to do what the Saudi Arabians do with such people. Cut their fucking hands off. Works for me.

Oh, Karen. That sucks rocks. Will the bank give you back your money? I don’t suppose you have any idea when or where your cards were cloned. I’m paranoid about using cash points, I’m looking at the card slot and stuff and putting my hand over the keypad while I enter my PIN.
BTW, remember a while back talking about kids that get lost in the shopping centre? Well, in light of the disgusting rape of an 11yr old girl in the loos at a Sainsbury, I’ve informed Jade that she is no longer going to the loo by herself. I was wavering over this before, but this incident has cemented my decision. I really feel for the mum, you do want to think that since you are in a busy shop that something like this won’t happen.

Oh that’s nasty Karen!!!! Can you get it back again? In Canada the banks have some kind of insurance so that if this kind of thing happens, the customer doesn’t loose out – at least I think they do.
I hope they find them and make them pay!!

People are such assholes, Karen! Please tell me the bank is going to put the money back in your account. I hope they catch the bastards and I’m with you — off with their hands!

I’m sorry to hear that K-rock. I hope you get everything taken care of. I went through that nightmare myself a few months back. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and good luck.

Hi Dawn, yeah the bank will give us back the money, but it just makes me so damned mad that a bunch of wasters can go and raid my personal bank account when they feel like it!
And I don’t blame you going to toilet with Jade, there are some sicko’s out there, and better to be safe than sorry.
Kristie, I’m sure we’ll get the money back, but it’s funny we both feel as if we’ve been violated. It’s a strange feeling actually.
Shelly, I hope the perpetrators die a horrible and painful death. It may seem extreme, but I’m really pissed off.
Thanks Maura! I’m sure we will.
Thanks Eve, I was talking to a couple of people today, and both of them had experienced something similar. It’s way more rife than I realised.

🙁 Of course you will change your PIN as soon as you get the chance, right? I had a similar thing happened to me years ago and I was honestly gutted to learn that it was my own flatmate who was behind roughly a year’s worth of withdrawals. My dad – who was responsible for my bank account at the time – finally realised something was up when a withdrawal was made during a time I was at my parents’. It didn’t take long to figure out who was behind it. She knew that I wouldn’t know even if I “read” those f. bank statements. And that hurts.
I swaer if I saw her again, you’d better hold me back or it’s prison for me for life. And I’ll do same for you and the Tall One when you find your thieves. 😀 Seriously, I’m truly sorry that it happened to you two. You’re right, it’s really that sense of violation. It’s horrid and it makes you a bit paranoid, too, and distrustful. It’s just horrid. 🙁
It’s best to change your PIN regularly. To be on the safe side, anyway. 🙂
