I want, I want!
Went to look at this house earlier today, isn’t it lovely? Unfortunately, The Tall Guy wasn’t impressed by the fact that it’s only got a single garage. Me, I was happy at the thought of having more rooms to store my books. Sigh.
The search for Karen’s new house continues…

Very nice, Karen! Is it a 4 bed? It looks quite big. Although I’ll admit that it’s nice to have a double garage so that you don’t have to scrape off the frost in the winter (after all you live oop North!), you at least have your own private drive that you can park the cars on and not have to share with anyone (unsociable cow that I am!)

Dawn, it’s a four-bed, and what I loved most about it was the drive, it felt totally secluded. Mind you, the people who are selling it, have no idea when it comes to decorating. They had a red carpet running throughout the house. Red effing carpet. I ask you.

Hmmm, I didn’t realize I had such a rich friend. Does this mean I’ll have a place to crash when I come to England? *BEG*

Red carpet, huh? Maybe they were running a brothel?

Hey Eve, I live in the North of England where houses aren’t so expensive. This house was on the market for just under £350k ($630k), down South, this house would probably go for £1m, this is why living within spitting distance of London is not a good idea.
Houses are more expensive where Dawn lives. How much would a house like this cost where you are Dawn?

Well, in Milton Keynes, we don’t have the high prices of London. Our house – 4 beds, 2 receptions, big kitchen and large conservatory – probably goes for about the same price as the ones you’re looking at.
Anyway – off to bed, I’m knackered.

What a lovely home! We have a double garage and it’s lucky with all the stuff my hubby stores in there, if it were a single I’d have no place to park.

Oh that house looks so lovely!!!
Good luck on your search, Karen… though I would happily sacrifice the second car to the elements for that house.

It’s beautiful, Karen. Too bad the Tall Guy wasn’t as taken with it as you were.*g*
Good luck!

I think it looks fab! I love the drive too because I can imagine all kinds of flowers in bloom and it sits back from the street. Ohhhhhh, the joys of house hunting. Don’t be discouraged though. Every near miss helps you to narrow down what you REALLY want. Good luck!!

Great house Karen…looks very “English” to me (which is a good thing LOL).
My parents live in London and last year bought a house. Oh my! Talk about pricey and for what it is too! (Sure it’s a lovely decorated home, modern and spacious blah blah blah but for the money they spent on it? It’s a million dollar home in NZ money LOL). My sis and I moan that they’ve spent our inheritance on that house LOL.
Good luck on your property search though, I know how difficult, stressful it can be.

That’s an unusual type. *squints* Slatted stone? It’s somewhere in Yorkshire, isn’t it? I only see that type in that region. Damn, Karen! Why do you have it so small?! *squints* Sod it. I will email you about this.
