CJ Hollenbach EC Model, not my cuppa

I’m aware of who the Elloras Cavemen are, and apart from the whole squicky Chippendales (you know I just nearly wrote The Chipmunks cuz I couldn’t remember their name *g*) type feel to them, most of them are ok (if you’re into that kinda look, which I most decidedly am not), however I tend to stay away from the covers featuring CJ Hollenbach.

Not that I’ve got anything against him, but he is so not my idea of a hero. In my humble opinion, he’s the worst out of the bunch, yet it seems that the EC creative team have had a moment of madness, and he is now on all their Quickies. Whyyyyyyyyy?

Bootiful Cover…

Anyway, moving on swiftly, I immediately went and got Bone Deep, by Bonnie Dee, after reading Bam’s review of it, doesn’t it sound fabulous? If I feel strongly enough about it once I read it, I’ll review. How lovely is this cover?

Hahaha, Karen. I agree with you, CJ reminds me a bit of a Fabio knock off. And I have no problems with knock offs, I like my fake LV bags, but even Fabio doesn’t do much for me.

I’ll be picking up Bone Deep, too!

That first guy…men with long hair do nothing for me. UGH!

That second cover is fabulous. Hubby does all the covers for Freya’s Bower and Wildchildpublishing – reckon this one on your blog is top notch.

    :o)

I’m not SURE… I don’t pay much attention to the author info i get, but i vaguely recall reading that the Fun in the Sun Quickies had a special cover done for them. Once they are done, I don’t think that cover will be used.

and oh I do like that second cover

Well, you know how I feel about him. 🙂

    *shudder*

I do like that second cover. Every time I see it, I think about looking for the book.

Ugh, I remember talking about this model somewhere else.

Someone needs to put him into retirement already.

    The frizzy wild hair…yuck

Sigh. Yeah. I knew this would happen, LOL. When I saw the cover last month for Sudden Desire I thought – “Oh My” and knew it would get snarked.

I hear CJ is a very nice person and I’m not going to cast aspersions on his looks. But it’s my very least favorite cover for all my books and he is not representative of my story.

But, shrug, I have to hope folks pick up the book anyway and say, “I can’t believe that tiny ball in the sky isn’t butter!”

From what I can tell, all special themed quickies get special covers – the winter holiday quickies get one and I’m guessing the Autumn Animalia quickies will get one too. I could make a comment about furries, but I haven’t had enough caffeine yet and I’m not sure I’m all that ready for public consumption just yet.

I had a thing for big buff Viking-looking men once.

    I got over it.

Oh, and I mean to check out Bonnie Dee’s other book, Housebound or something. It’s about an agoraphobic and a male ho.

    That shit sounds awesome.

Maybe he’s on all the Quickie covers because he is that quick…if you know what I mean.

Ick… he’s NOT for me at all. Not exactly the person I’d put on the cover.

And the book… eh. It sounds okay, but the cover is amazing!

I’ve heard several people say that CJ is a really nice person, so I’m also not going to knock him other than to say he desperately needs a haircut! I don’t mind long hair if it looks touchable and soft – his does not.

I saw Bam’s review and also want to read this story now. Her feelings were so strongly in favor of it I can’t help but want to get my hands on it. Funny thing is, I probably wouldn’t even have given it another thought if it weren’t for her review.

Aw, CJ IS a nice guy. Yeah, he needs a haircut and some serious conditioning, but ya gotta give kudos to a guy who keeps in such good shape for his age.

    I believe he’s in his late 30’s. He’s kinda shy too 🙂

As for Bone Deep, love the cover, sadly, won’t have time to read it because I never have time for any fun anymore. LOL

    For those who do–enjoy!

I agree CJ could use a good haircut.

And Dakota? You would have time for reading if you didn’t play so damn much UNO!

Someone told me that he was one of the original cavemen, so I guess that says something for company loyalty at least. Not my type, but hey, I guess that’s why Baskin Robbins serves 31 flavors. Give me a dark haired darked eyed guy any day. Yummy!

LOL! Poor CJ. He’s not a favorite of mine. I think it’s the hair. *shudder* Bone Deep is on my TBR too, Bam’s review was fantastic!

CJ seems like a nice man. Not my type though. His article for the Lady Jaided newsletter is really good, his sense of humor really shines.

I personally like Bobby K and Rodney out of the Cavemen. Brooks Johnson is supposed to be on one of the covers soon too, and he’s not only handsome, he’s a gentleman as well.

Eve, I’m with you, dark hair and eyes all the way. And might I add a wiry, lean, not too muscular build–more of a swimmer than a weight-lifter.

I had the dubious honor of taking the plane from Atlanta to Daytona (and back again) just seats away from four or five Cavemen. The moment I saw them at the Atlanta airport I thought, “These guys have got to be going to the Romantic Times convention. They don’t look like normal, plane-travelin’ folks.”

Speaking of he-man, muscle-bound types. I could only watch about two minutes of the Mr. Romance competition. It felt embarrassing to be gawking like a middle-aged loser at all that tanned and toned flesh. So, what did I do instead? Went to the beach and gawked at real, live, normal guys frolicking in the waves. Somehow that felt much better.

Wot’s this? You wouldn’t know stud meat if it nipped you in the ass, Scott. Long hair, short hair, waxed or shaved, CJH is hot.

Don’t ever change, CJ. Well, erm, unless you’d like to get a whole body tattoo like the guy on Bone Deep.

    LOLOL!

    Hey! I understand.

…broad shoulders, slim hips, lean muscular frame, blond hair, blue eyes, warm whiskey-rich voice, stunning smile…

    …that’s just not everybody’s cuppa.

    LOLOL!

CJH has a great smile. It’s his biggest asset as a MMmmmm male model.

    cheers!
