Can we say, sucks great big hairy donkey balls?
It’s official. Changeling Press have some of the suckiest covers on the fucking planet. Doesn’t ths half-man, half-lion turn you on? Hubba hubba. Not.
Man-on-man love should not look this bad.
And, I’m not sure what the hell is happening with this slightly anorexic dude. Is it me, or is the hand leaning against the wall, almost non-existent?
Thanks to Katie for sending me the link to the last cover.

Uh, okay, these make me long for good old fashioned clinch covers. I think my eyes just crossed. Thank you so much. ;p

That first cover reminds me of the character Vincent on an old TV show called Beauty and the Beast starring Linda Hamilton. At the time I thought it was quite romantic.
This cover however – ugh! LOL

It’s sad. Just…sad. You’d think after all the snark they’ve gotten that they’d TRY to do something different but…no.

Well – Vincent on Beauty and the Beast was kind of sexy in an animalistic way but the dude(?) er lion on the first one is just funny! And LOL at the last guy. Not only does he have an extremely small hand (girl hand, girl hand) but his forearm is so deformed!
They really are rotten covers aren’t they. Sad really for the authors!

Makes you wonder- do these ugly covers make for sales? I’d love to know.

Well, they’re still operating, so I guess the books are selling, but I think this is because there are some talented writers there, so they sell in spite of the covers methinks.
You’d think the graphics department would get a clue wouldn’t you.

I’m just laughing because the dark-haired dude on the male-on-male cover has his foot up like he just received THE BEST KISS EVAH.

I’m running a 2-part series on cover art on my blog. I interviewed April Martinez and Anne Cain for it. On Wednesday, I’ll be explaining what the deal is with Changeling, indirectly.
And yeah, they’re fugly.

I remember that show. I really liked Vincent.
That cover looks nothing like him, thank gosh.
I’m LOL’ing at those covers, hehe.

Chantal, I think everyone was in love with Vincent, as sick as it seems now, lol!

Karen –
That cover of the lion man looked to me more like a monkey man, and even though Jaid Black tried to make gorilla men sound sexy in her Trek series, they icked me out.

LLB, you talking about JB’s Dementia? That was one of my least fave Trek books, I think that was actually a DNF for me. Wolfies I can take, but Gorilla Love could never row my boat. *g*

Karen –
Actually, not that one. In the book w/Jek (I forget the name), the Gorillas first make their appearance. That was enough for me, although I thought that was probably the funniest book in the bunch.

You know, I’ve been wondering WTF these publishers are thinking allowing covers like this to be used. Doesn’t there come a point in time where the owners of the company should step in and say, “wait, hold on a second. That’s a fucking ugly cover. We have to do better than this”?
And it seems to me that these covers go from bad to worse, much like the editing from other publishers.
Egads! Donkey balls, indeed!
