On your shiny new 12-Book Contract With Berkley! I knew New York would love you!

I will obviously be buying every single one of your books, even if they come out in hardback. I don’t do that for just anyone.

I’m really happy that your Promises series will get the audience it deserves. I am so looking forward to The Reverend’s book!

Me, Rabid Fan-Girl, hear me Sqeee!

12 books? Is that some kind of freaking record? I thought the 6 book contract with Jacquelyn Frank was whackadoo.

    Jaye-

No reprints. The books I have with Elloras stay there. Berkley is picking up the first two of the last six in the series with an option on the rest.

It’s not 12 books to Berkley, though. (I wish.*G*) I have contracted 10 books to NY. 4 series. One to Harlequin HQN, (paranormal cowboy vampires) one to Spice (western Historical) One to Berkley Heat (a hot paranormal anthology concept/series) and the PROMISE series (western historical) is moving to to Berkely Sensation starting with the Reverend’s story.

I know everyone says this, but I feel very fortunate in my editors at all my houses. Skilled knowledgeable and with a sense of humor, it’s going to be wonderful working with them.

You know, I’ve been writing for 20 years, working toward this day and this last year has a very unreal feel to it. A good feel but unreal none the less.

And Karen, did you see the cover for my first SPICE book? Gritty earthy and snap your head around gorgeous. The hunk on the cover is totally sexy in a way that has nothing to do with the gym and everything to do with pure masculinity. (In the photo section of my yahoo group until the typo gets fixed.)

    Thanks again!

I think she ties Robin Schone who got a ten book? contract. That’s the most I’ve ever heard of.

Thanks Barb, Rosie, CK and everyone.

MJD- Thnks. I’ve heard it’s a great place to write.

Ferfelebat- I had a chapter to finish so after I got done posting the announcement, I did that and went to bed. (I’d been up writing since 3 am) We are going out tonight though.

Eva- I can be persistent when I want something. *G* This is not a business for the faint of heart for sure.

Jackie- Chocolate my fave! (we were out last night) *sob*

Dawn- Yup, She grabbed him from PL I think. His story is going to be very fun.

Wow! Go on with your bad self Sarah!

Now that my financial “worries” are behind me, I’m going to run right out and buy the Promises series. I’ve been meaning to forever – honestly.

And your Spice series sounds very intriguing. Of course, just say the word “western” and I’m like one of Pavlov’s dogs…..

Wendy-So glad your worries are in the past. There’s nothing more stressful.

    >> Of course, just say the word “western” and I’m like one of Pavlov’s dogs…..<< You and me both,Wendy. I read every western I can find. Even if I just think it might have elements of a western theme, I snap to attention. SPICE-I was a little worried about how my Editor at Spice was going to take Caine’s Reckoning. I know it makes me a nut, but I was worried she was going to tell me “This is romance. Not what we had in mind. Go back and start over.” (like she hadn’t read the synopsis before she bought it *rolling eyes at self*) She loved it though and laughed when I confessed my fear. *G* I think the SPICE line is going to have a wide variety of content and something for everyone. For me, I get to write about sexy, bad ass Texs rangers as realistically as I want in regard to race, clashing beleif systems, emotional issues, life situations, etc. IOW, I’m pretty much in heaven. *G*

Thanks. I can’t wait either. I’m also *really* looking forward to the big poster blow up of Caine’s Reckoning. (I’m bringing it to Lorie Foster and Diane Castell’s get together.) I think the stud on the cover needs futher examination… *G*

That is depressing as hell. Is the no special reward you’ve held out for success? Mine was a Mont Blanc fountain pen. The first article I was paid for bought my very first Mont Blanc, replacing my ancient Waterman. I’m not sure what I want if I ever reach my next goal and I probably won’t reach it if I don’t think up some decent reward.

At least tell me you are planning a dinner for two at a five star restaurant or a day at Canyon Ranch or something.
