Simon and Sinitta, back in the day
People pretend not to like him, but his opinion is the only one I’m interested in when watching American Idol. I mostly always agree with him.
I kinda felt sorry for that Alaina (or whatever her name is) when she had to sing after she’d just been booted out. I always think it’s pretty brave of them to get up there after they’ve just seen their dreams go up in smoke. I can’t imagine that she’s gonna do a Jennifer Hudson though, she was bland as hell.
Also, is it just me, or did Kelly Pickler, not only look ten years older, but her boobs look to have taken on a life of their own? Were her boobs that big last year?
Loved her shoes though.

I can’t watch American Idol because I squirm in embarassment watching people humiliate themselves. In the same way that I love figure skating but dread the possibility of seeing someone fall on their ass. I’m not above reading gossip about former Idol contestants though. I read Friday that Pickler had a boob job.
Who are Terri and Sinitta? Are they British models or in the music business?

Terri Seymour is a TV presenter, they’ve been together a while now.
Sinitta is a singer, and her and Simon were an item years ago. She also dated Brad Pitt, the lucky biatch.

Thanks for the info, Karen. I just looked Sinitta up on Rhapsody and am about to listen to some of her music.

I have to admit that I love Simon also. I like that he’s honest rather than sugar-coating everything like Paula does. She annoys me.
As for Pickler, DH and I were talking about that… boob job for sure, and possibly ass job too… did you notice the just perfect curve? I guess money can buy a lot these days, huh? I still think she’s dumb as a rock.
American Idol this season sucks ass. HATE some of the contestants, and WTF is up with the Sanjaya still being there? The little FREAK needs to be GONE like now. He creeps me out. Blech.

I love love love Simon Cowell. He’s just so honest. And someone has to be honest with these poor deluded people who believe they can sing. Yes, Simon rocks my world

I would stop watching if Simon wasn’t on the show. To be fair, sometimes he does go over the line with some of his comments, but 90% of the time, he and I are on the same page. If family and friends didn’t lie to these contestants about how good they are, then they wouldn’t be humiliated on national television, although I do feel there are some really good singers who do have good voices but don’t have the ‘total package’ the judges are looking for. And I have to say, I must be the only one voting for that Sanjaya kid, mainly because I feel sorry for him. *sigh* I’m addicted to that show. My favorites this season are Melinda, Lakisha, Blake and Sanjaya.

I adore Simon. He’s so deliciously alpha. And that smile…
I didn’t watch the results show, but I hope whichever girl horrifically butchered “Not Ready To Play Nice” is gone.
I like Sundance and Chris Sligh (?) and Lakisha (though she needs a wardrobe stylist in a hurry).

Shannon, I’m so with you about Lakisha’s wardrobe. Simon was right on the money when he commented that he was ‘distracted’ by it. I knew exactly what he meant.
She looked much better on the elimination show.

Am I the only one who don’t watch tv and totally can’t understand why people waste precious space blogging about such horrible shows be they “reality or series”, when book recommendations are needed, subjective reviews of said books and lively discussions about horrible book covers….:-(

LOL! I’m with you Chandra. I think these shows are as dull as mud. I don’t understand people’s fascination at all. The highlights I’m forced to watch on the morning news are more than enough for me. I tell you, though, if American Idol preempts House one more time, I’m going to boycott the network!
Love the dialogue on House!

I love Simon too although I haven’t watched AI yet this season.

I’m a Sundance fan also, mainly because he is from the town my husband grew up in, which also happens to be about 15 miles away from where we live now. It would be freaky weird to see the American Idol parade come through town if he made it to the end of the show. My favorite has to be Melinda though, she just seems so all around shy and humble… then she opens her mouth and can belt out with the best of them.

I’m *blush* embarrassed to admit (on my very first visit to your blog) that I’ve never seen American Idol and that I had no clue who Simon was until my partner compared him to Mrs. Giggles & then had to explain the reference. I live in my own little sheltered erotic romance world … and I like it here.

My only comment about AI, is why the f**k do we have to see Cat Deely sticking her oar in? Apparently, it’s to get a “British perspective” on the contest.
It appears that I’m far too thick to understand what Ryan Seacrest and everyone else is saying. OK, that could apply to Paula, but I think that everyone has difficulty understanding what she is trying to say!
I say get rid of Cat and get on with the show.
