I’m Thinking That This Cover Would Definitely Fail RWA’s Graphical Standards…(Do They Still Exist?)

I wonder which is Anchor, and which is Storm? *g*
But it certainly caught my eye. I’ve mostly gone right off menage books now, but I really liked the premise of this one.
Edgar Armstrong, Earl of Callander, had not given much thought to marrying and producing an heir…until he meets Emily Sinclair. When their easy companionship grows into love, they learn that Edgar’s progressively debilitating disease could be passed on to his children. As their joy turns to despair Edgar finds a solution. If he can’t get her with child he knows just the man who can. But will Emily agree to his plan?
Angus MacNeill, Lord Callander’s groom, thinks Emily married Edgar for his title, his money and the security he can give her. And when Edgar approaches him with a very unusual request Angus questions his master’s motives. Still, it doesn’t stop him from accepting Callander’s terms — it’s the only way he can be with Emily, even if only until she conceives.
Deeply in love with Edgar, Emily will do anything he asks of her. But she never suspected he’d ask something like this! Despite Edgar’s reassurances she worries that his plan could destroy their marriage rather than strengthen it. And when she makes her choice, Emily wonders if there’s room enough for two men in her heart — and in her bed.
I have a certain affection for historical erotic romance, I think it’s the thought of such naughty goings ons, during these notoriously repressive time periods.
You can buy Anchor and Storm from Elloras Cave. Now let’s hope there aren’t any effing whips, chains, or nipple clamps involved.

The graphic standards were suspended I believe, but this cover would definitely fail them. After all, the suggestiveness of the image of feet resting on the back of a seat caused all sorts of fainting horrors. *G*

Thanks for the heads up, Karen. Historial erotic romance really, really works for me. If done right. It’s right up there with erotic romantic suspense or erotic romantic murder/mystery. If done right. Just bought this one. 🙂

*note to self – Do not sit at computer with the credit card next to keyboard when reading e-book reviews. It may and can lead to impulse buying.*
This newest purchase of mine is a bit of a further walk into the unknown realm of erotic romance. I’ll let you know how I enjoyed it.

I love the cover, and I love the blurb, so I’m afraid I’m going to have to buy this book now! Are you going to review this one?

This one sounds good, I may be pulling out a credit card too.

I also wonder about how nasty were people sexually speaking in the past.
The cover looks enticing and really erotic, a lot better than most of the cover you bring here!
Except maybe for the toilet cover that was too funny to compare it!

I love menage stories. I think I’ve read just about everyone that’s been out. That’s a pretty hot cover.

Okay, I’ve read it. What does everyone else think?

Rosie, it was no where near as hot as the cover suggested, but I liked it actually.
The villains were pretty stereotypical, the writing was a little amateurish at times, technically, it wasn’t perfect, but I liked the dynamics between the three lead characters. At least I was able to finish it in one sitting, which I haven’t been able to do for a while.
One thing that did puzzle me was that I never learned exactly how old her husband was. I kept thinking he was an old man, which skeezed me out a bit, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t that old. I may have missed the reference in the book.
I think I could probably put this down as a guilty pleasure.
And Maralyn, no, I wont be reviewing it properly, because I have too many that I have to review as it is. *g*

That’s a lovely cover! While I like menages, I don’t really get into them if two of the folks are married to one another. Call me biased LOL

For what it’s worth…
According to The History of Sex- it’s a 5 part program usually on the History Channel that covers all periods from ancient times to the middle ages to the 20th century- people were actually a lot more sexually uninhibited than we’ve been led to believe.

Yeah, all you have to do is read some Chaucer (that nether eye!) to figure out that they weren’t quite such prudes back in his time.

Wow, quite the racy little cover! Too bad I’m not much on historical erotica.

I love the cover. I did find the blurb interesting when I got the list of last week’s new releases.
