God this shit makes me angry.

Apparently she was garroted, and her body stuffed in a suitcase. The father ordered the murder, and he was aided by his brother.

I have no words for how disgusted I am at the fact that these vile men felt justified in murdering their own flesh and blood, just because she’d had the misfortune of falling in love with somebody else.

Honour killings eh? Don’t these imbeciles know that there is no honour to be found in butchering their kin?

I hope they rot in prison. Or worse.

Give me an atheist any fucking day.

That is just sick. I’m a Muslim and yes, I’m married to one too but have a few family members who didn’t and it’s all good. To take a life, because you didn’t agree with their choices is just so wrong. 🙁 Do they really think come Judgment Day that they’re going to be applauded for what they did?

That’s horrible! It’s hard to believe this kind of thing still goes on. I know it does, but still, so sad.

they had to know it was wrong because they had to HIDE the body in a suitcase! Shit, if they truly believed there was honor in killing this girl, they would have displayed her dead body for all to see.

    I’m just sayin’!

I would suggest you look at that article.

It is no more fair for you to malign religion if a religious person did something crazy than it is fair for atheists to be maligned if an atheist person did something crazy in the name of their beliefs. Religion can be perfectly compatible with a lot of things; it depends on the interpreter of this religion and the society they live in.

I think people can’t avoid treating any set of beliefs, including religious ones, as a buffet from which they select what suits them. People kill people: crosses, guns and crescent moons do not on their own.

I can understand your gut instinct to do so, however, and you do just go with your feelings in this blog. Oh, there’s a Harvard Test that was quoted in the Blink book you might be interested in:

It’s got Race and all sorts of unconscious prejudices one might have that it seems to be a good measure of.

First, to Karen’s post – yes it’s disgusting and horrible, and unfortunately happens way too often.

B – hmmm, good way to get me in a pissy mood but I think I’ll just blog rather than take up all of Karen’s comments *sigh*

B, for your information I happen to believe that religion is one of the main causes of all that is bad in this world, if you read this blog often enough you’d know that, so this really isn’t about fairness. It wasn’t a set of atheists who were responsible for the 9/11 bombings was it? It’s not the atheists that are responsible for sending suicide bombers to kill thousands of innocent people is it? And I wont even go into the whole Catholic v Protestants war that Northern Ireland was subjected to for over 30 years.

Oh yeah, and the whole thing over Jehovah’s Witnesses being willing for their children to die, rather than let them have a blood transfusion, because it’s against their beliefs.

    I rest my fucking case.

Fairly or unfairly, I think that organised religion is the scourge of the world, and I’d be happy if it was eradicated altogether.

I haven’t got a problem with people believing in God, but don’t come ramming it down my throat, or try telling me that killing people is a Godly thing to do.

The smirks on these monsters’ faces just sickens me.

The Jehovah’s Witnesses beliefs never made sense to me as I believe we have cures because of God, not in spite of Him, so they are meant to be used to help people and end their suffering, not be ignored and maligned. Just don’t get it.

Everybody believe what they want as long as you’re not forcing your beliefs on anyone, condemning anyone to the fiery depths of hell for not believing what you believe or affecting anyone negatively in any way. That is my general philosphy towards religion.

I just hope these guys don’t get off lightly because of religous reasons.

    Apologies, jaynie!

You’re right; we’re all free to believe what we want, Karen, and I’ve had my say about religion. I won’t bother you about it any more!

What’s made me even more sick is that as I reread this article in a newspaper was that the girl in question repeatedly told the police she was in danger, and they didn’t protect her.

Sometimes it angers me more when the system fails to do what it says on the tin(Also see: certain celeberities + bribes).
