Thundercats – loved these!

He-Man – Funny, Adam seemed more manly when I was 11…

She-Ra – I don’t remember Dora sounding so wussy, do you?

I’ve recently caught some classic He-Man episodes on TV over here (the 1980s one, not the 2002 one), and the characters speak… so… slowly… that… it… drives… me… crazy… to… watch… The 2002 version is so much better (and darker too).

I like watching the classic She-Ra episodes though because they have this character that hides in a scene during the episode. It’s fun to try to look for it.

I used to watch she-ra as a kid and loved it. A couple of months ago I watched a clip on amazon and thought she sounded like an old english lady.

It’s surreal to hear the Dogtanian theme song in English. I still remember all the words to the Spanish translation…

    eran uno dos y tres,
    los famosos mosqueperros,
    el pequeño Dartarcán,
    siempre iba con ellos.

    *g*

Wow, you got me sidetracked. I had to go to YouTube and hunt up the cartoon themes from all the Sid and Marty Kraft shows from MY Saturday morning youth.
HR Puffinstuff, Sigmund and the Sea Monster, Land of the Lost and even the Bugaloos were all there! Good times watching crappy TV.

Ah, the coincidences in life. Mysterious Cities of Gold was translated into Arabic and I watched that. Well, a few episodes.

    LOL, the memories 🙂

Ah, look, found the Arabic version. Title translates to ‘Golden Dreams’.

There’s an hour wasted old intros!

I always thought the Misfits were so much more interesting than the Holograms. Their music is better too (which isn’t saying much, actually, heh). My favorite episode is the one where one of the Holograms joined up with Stormer from the Misfits to do their own thing.

I loved the GI Joe episodes when it was Duke and Lady Scarlet and gang versus Cobra Commander and Destro. The Baroness looked so cool with her accent, glasses, and bodysuit. Come to think of it, I remembering enjoying MASK (the one with all that transforming vehicles) as well as Transformers (the Optimus Prime ones).

They don’t make cartoons like they used to, sigh.

Mrs. G, did you know that the singing voice of Jem is Britta Phillips? She’s brilliant. She used to be in a band called Luna with her husband Dean Wareham, who used to be in a band called Galaxie 500. Both are awesome. They now sing under “Dean & Britta” and they’re wonderful.

You should check ’em out. They have a version of “Forever” (the one by the Beach Boys) that makes me teary every time I hear it.

also a good song: “I wanna be your baby”
