Sooo I watched Bride and Prejudice last night, (Bollywood take on Jane Austen’s book) what a lovely romantic film! How gorgeous is Aishwarya Rai? If I was a lesbian, I so would.

I remember years ago at school, I used to have an Indian friend, and most lunch times, we used to sneak off to her house to watch her collection of Bollywood films. I loved the colours, the drama, the music, and the themes of love, and betrayal, and the lip synching that seems to be a prerequisite of most of the Bollywood film that I’ve seen.

TTG of course just didn’t get it. Heathen.

By the way, if you listen to the main theme song Take Me To Love, more than twice, you’ll find yourself humming it all day!

Indian Version of Take Me To Love

No Life Without Wife – Hilarious lip synching, and funky dancing

English version of Take Me To Love

Naveen Andrews from Lost struts his stuff

……ohhhh, Karen, and HOW! AND I would so join you with Miss Rai, gorgeousness personified, but the men are too juicy to ignore…..Hollywood ain’t got nothing on Bollywood,…. least no more…..they’re bringing old fashioned entertainment ethics/morals back! Yay!

I’m with you both on this. I love watching these! I saw another one a while back where the hero and heroine meet on a train. It was so sweet! And the dancing and singing is always fun!

Ms Rai recently got married, didn’t she? I saw her in a recent film with the guy from The Practice, Mistress of Spices. It was a beautiful film.

I love Bollywood movies, those actors get down with their bad selves. LOL. Ashwarya Rai is so goregous.

Woohoo – I love the Bollywood flicks 🙂 Each summer over in Leeds a bunch of stars would come over and have a retreat of sorts…such a hoot.

Bride and Prejudice was good fun, I’d love to see them here, but thus far haven’t seen any.

I didn’t know Bollywood from nuthin’ and caught BRIDE AND PREDJUDICE on cable and was so entertained by it. Then last year a fellow blogger Mailyn did a whole week of educating the clueless (for instance, me) about all things Bollywood. Who knew?

Love the music and dancing. Delicious fun!

Jade, DH and I watched Bride & Prejudice last night. It was a fabulous film. I was singing Take Me To Love this morning and Jade was doing No Life Without Wife along with the dance moves. It was my first Bollywood movie, and I’ll be looking out for some more.

Ms Rai is gorgeous – I was completely mesmerised by her eyes.

I’ve heard great things about this movie – and a lot of it from Mailyn too – and after watching the clips, I really am going to have to watch it. And I’m 99% sure she’s the one that Richard Gere got into such trouble over when he leaned her over and kissed her cheek.

I like Bollywood movies but found Bride & Prejudice a shaky mix of Hollywood and Bollywood. But Aishwarya Rai is beyond gorgeous!

I love Bollywood movies. A restaurant that I and my SO frequent has a large screen TV and they always play Bollywood movies or music videos.

My latest and constant addiction is Koran drama on AZN TV. These historicals I can really get into.

Now I’m watching “Egypt’s Lost Queen.” I love ancient Egypt!

I confess I have watched this movie zillions of times. Rai is one of the most beautiful woman in the world, but sadly if you listen to her speak.. *sigh* God is fair sometimes.

    I heart Naveen Andrews.

Kristie(j) – Richard Gere got in trouble with Shilpa Shetty, who’s nowhere as gorgeous as Rai (although she is beautiful)!

    it’s a me too.
We started the evening a bit bleh, but the film perked us right up!
The purists who say it’s ‘not like Jane Austen’ just don’t get it. It’s just the themes and the story translated for a kind of cross between Bollywood and US film making.
    Totally fun, though!

I love this film too, a really fun adaptation of Jane Austen. Loved the bit where the mother mentions that the Mr. Collins character owns 2 Subway franchises!

I watched quite a few Bollywood films as a child. So the first time I saw an Indian in real life, a couple of days after I landed in the U.S., it was a bit of a shock. Watching those films, I’d received an impression that Indians were all light-skinned!

I heart Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan.
