Oooh, somehow with all the madness over the past couple of weeks, I managed to miss the fact that Harlequin’s erotic Spice Briefs line is up and running.

Spice Briefs cost just $2.99, and the wordcount is generally between 5k and 15k words. There’s a $0.99 special offer on the books until 15th August, so go buy!

When I was over there, I noticed that Sarah McCarty’s Letting Go was the top seller so far. Fabulous.

Somehow, it also managed to escape my notice that Eharlequin are now offering e-books for all their lines. Anyway, I immediately went and ordered Sarah McCarty’s, Letting Go, and Jessica Bird’s, The Billionaire Next Door. I must say though, I’m most annoyed that the text-to-speech functionality isn’t operational on their Lit books. One of the great things about MS Reader, is having the option of being read aloud to. I hate that publisher exclusive downloads excludes this function. Dammit.

By the way, am I the only person who struggles to remember romance heroes and heroine names, after reading a book? I was packing up some of the books on my keeper shelf this morning, and I found that I couldn’t remember half the character’s names, and these were books I loved! Sheesh…

I have noticed that other NY publishers have gone the eformat way as well i.e. HarperCollins, Kensington.

And no, you are not the only one that forgets the names of the heroes and heroines even if they are the main characters in some of your favorite reads. However, with the sheer amount of books that we all seem to read, this is not too surprising, me thinks.

Karen–Well, the bigger pubs sell audio versions too, so they might not have the reading functionality because they want those folks who want audibles to buy the audio books.

As I understand it, though, you can buy books on iTunes. 🙂

Love the cover. Tasteful for erotica. But the regular price is $2.99?!? Harlequin Romance (50-55k words) is only $3.99.

Guess I’ll be buying the SPICE Briefs only for the next 10 days.

    Hey Karen!

Isn’t it great more and more books are becoming available in ebook? I have almost all of my keeper shelf books converted over.

I’m trying to train myself to do audio books, but so far, I can’t keep my attention on the voice speaking. About halfway through the book it will occur to me that I missed the last five chapters. *sigh*

    Hope you enjoy Letting Go!

Nope I don’t remember names either. It’s crazy too because sometimes right after reading a book and doing a blog review I have to go find the book to get the names. Even books I love, love, love and can remember plot details I’ll have trouble remembering character names.

Read both those books you bought. I was surprised how much I liked Bird’s SSE. Sarah’s Brief was good, but boy did I want it to be longer. Although I’m thinking that’s the point of the Briefs…to make us come back for more?

I’ll have to check out the briefs. And I sometimes forget the hero and heroines names before I even get a chance to review it! I think I’m getting old….

You know Karen, every time I cruise my blog feeds and this header comes up, I forget what it’s about and think you’re having a Beckham moment. He did marry one of the Spice girls didn’t he?

The Itunes books are just audible downloads which the last time I looked you had to pay full price for. The audible book club is the cheapest way to go. Harlequin is offering increasing numbers of books there– a lot of them are oldies from Nora Roberts and the rest seem to be paranormals or urban fantasy.

I’m still very annoyed that eHarlequin is available only to US and Canadian citizens. I can’t buy anything from there even when I have a valid credit card!
