Is It Wrong That I Found Optimus Prime Totally Hot?
Saturday, August 4, 2007Posted in: Transformers Robots In Disguise
TTG and I just came back from seeing Transformers The Movie. I can’t tell you how much I loved this film. The best this year as far as I’m concerned.
I used to watch Transformers as a kid, and watching this movie gave me such glorious back-in-the-day chills. The special effects were A-Mazing. No lie. Tyrese Gibson was hot as per usual. Damn I love that man like a fat kid loves cake.
The Autobots were fabulous, Megatron was evil incarnate, and the rest of the Decepticons were fantastic to watch. Wasn’t Bumblebee cute? And I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who felt gutted when he got hurt.
This movie rocked so much, that I’ll be getting it on DVD once it comes out. Who says these films are just for kids? *Happy Sigh.*

Tyrese Gibson is to drool for. I’m so going to center a character around him someday!

thank god, i thought i was the only one! of course, the geek next to me at the theater wouldn’t have looked at me so funny if i hadn’t sighed out “optimus” in quite so breathless a tone when he finally made his appearance. in truck form no less. i’m a sick sick woman.
i wish they’d do a live-action movie this good for ‘thundercats’. except, you know, without the years of shitty computer-animated saturday shows in between the original and the movie.
and now you’ve got me feeling all kinds of nostalgic karen. i’ve had the first (only?) two seasons of ‘jem’ for a couple months now. but now i need the thundercats, voltron, robotech, and a few others i’m sure will come to mind later. *sigh* my bitlord is going to be very busy this week.

oh man, i hope it’s not wrong.
it was an excellent movie. And if I saw it twice, so what? The monster loves transformers and he’s been good this summer… he deserved seeing it twice, right?

Can I ask what rating this film had in the UK?
My son is 6 and is the Biggest! Transformers! Fan! Evah! – but when the movie came out here in Oz, it was rated “M”. I usually won’t even let him go see a PG film, but there was no way on earth I could deprive him of Transformers, so I let his father take him one night. I think he was the only person in the theatre under the age of 18! Both of them LOVED it, but I’m waiting waiting waiting for the DVD to see it.

It’s perfectly normal to love Optimus. When he died in the 1986 movie, I cried and was despondent for weeks!
I loved the Transformers so much that I braved the insane crowds and saw the 2007 movie on opening day. Afterwards, I wrote a 1400 word review and posted it on the Ladies of the Club blog and ran a mini Transformers trivia contest.
Already counting down to the sequel in 2009…

OMG, finally, someone else who loved Voltron!! (Didn’t you sob your eyes out when Aurora “died”?) Yes, I have to admit, I was so damn excited to see Optimus. I’ve loved him all my life, siiiiiiigh. It’s possibly my very favorite movie ever.
Oh, Eggs–I took my nine year old and the two 3 month olds. Even the babies were staring in awe. The jokes that are adultish aren’t overt. They’re dialogue and probably fly over the heads of little kids.
I did feel awful when Bumblebee got hurt–I cried when he got captured–but what really got me was Jazz…

Ooh, and funniest scene:
Captain Lennox: I need a credit card! Epps, where’s your wallet?
USAF Master Sgt. Epps: Pocket!
Captain Lennox: Which pocket?
USAF Master Sgt. Epps: MY BACK POCKET!
Captain Lennox: You got ten back pockets!
USAF Master Sgt. Epps: LEFT CHEEK! LEFT CHEEK! LEFT CHEEK!
Still upset about VW not giving Michael Bay permission to make Bumblebee a Beatle, though. *sigh*

Arrrgggghhhhh.
Still haven’t been to see this. But I am definitely going this week.
Eggs it’s rated 12A for the UK – unsuitable for children under 12. However they can still watch the film if they are accompanied by an adult (someone over 18) and it’s the adults responsibility to decide if the film is appropriate.

Thank you for mentioning Optimus hotness. Loved the movie, love Optimus. Loved Bumblebee. I used to watch Transformers with my kids, and now I’m drooling over deep sexy voices. I should be ashamed.
But I’m not. *g*

Lovely movie!
The high school thingie got on my tits though. Pouting half nekkid ditzy female with a brainless jock and nerdy not so goodlooking kid drooling after her. Were we like that back then?.
Nonetheless, man, Josh Duhamel is some man meat (though I’m a vegan).
Hey, I’m allowed to be consciously ditzy, no?

I am a huge Transformers fan. I used to write scripts for the show, on my own, as a teen. Created new characters, the whole deal. And I too saw it on opening day and loved it.
The Engineer, my DH, confessed to nearly crying at the first sound of Optimus’s voice, so ladies, we’re not alone.
And Dee, I’m with you. I’m still upset about Jazz. *Again*.

What I liked most about the movie was the humour, I didn’t expect that. Optimus was hot, his voice was oh so velvety and smooth!

I loved Transformers!! I think Shia LaBeouf is such a cutie pie. Optimus Prime is the man! But Bumble Bee kicked much ass.

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who has the hots for Optimus Prime. I had the hugest “crush” on him when I was little, and thought he was the sexiest truck! LOL I’m so glad that they got the same voice actor for the cartoons to do the live action movie.

I saw Transformers on opening night, and loved it. Hated that Jazz died, and I’m still trying to figure out what they’re going to do for the next movie. I mean, if Megatron’s spark is gone, who’s going to be the Big Bad?
There was a live action of Thundercats made, back in 1998, starring Mathew McConnaughey as Lion-o. It is gathering dust on a Warner Brothers shelf, desperately waiting for someone to “borrow” it and post it on YouTube.
Click Here for more info about the movie that wasn’t.
I miss Voltron. Sometimes Cartoon Network will play it like at 4 am when I’m still asleep. I also miss Battle of the Planets/G-Force and The so-bad-it-was-good Space Giants with the evil Lugo men who became brown Slushies when they were destroyed.

Transformers was one of the best movies I’ve seen all year. To me, it was the perfect date movie. It had action, suspense, romance, comedy…couldn’t ask for more.

seressia, you are my new favorite person for this week. looking at the info and the casting, i’m not sure if that particular live-action thundercats is worthy of the name (for fuck’s sake, where’s tigra’s hair? and kit and kat, and snarf?). but the fact that anyone’s thinking about it at all is good news. and maybe we’ll get a better one out of it.
and i loves me some voltron. original voltron, mind you. i was so pissed last year when i saw ‘voltron’ listed on the tv guide channel, and got myself all excited about seeing the show again, and then turned to that channel and saw this computer-animated piece of shite that didn’t bear any resemblance to the original series. seriously, i was about ready to punch in my screen.
sara: glad to hear your hubby was just as affected by the big blue and red guy. see, that allows me to continue with my delusion that my love for optimus is soley of the geek variety, and thus pure.

Megatron’s…gone, who’s going to be the Big Bad?
In the original animated Transformers, when Megatron was fatally injured, Unicron (Orson Welles) gave him a makeover and turned him into Galvatron, which was originally voiced by Leonard Nimoy. Not quite as evil as Megatron, but he was deadlier because he didn’t fly off the handle so much.
Yes, I know I’m a geek.
Don’t know about the Allspark. I didn’t like that they amalgamated the Energon Cube, the Vector Sigma, and the Matrix of Leadership. They really changed the Transformer history for the live action flick.

Seressia, there’s supposed to be a CGI Thundercats out in 2010. I think He-man in 2009? There’s a site at thundercats-the-movie.net.
For my money, no-one will ever surpass the comic-book hotness of Brendan Fraser in George of the Jungle. Yum-diddly-umptious!

We took my 6 y/o to see it and we all loved it. I haven’t liked a movie that much in a long time!
And I totally got sniffly when they tied Bumble Bee up. I can’t wait until it comes out on DVD.
I loved Amaury Nolasco. Love him in Prison Break and loved him in Transformers.

I thought it was hilarious that they worked ‘more than meets the eye’ into the script no less than THREE times.
Never watched this as a kid, but I loved the movie. I took my kids to see it, and was surprised at how much I liked. I really like the actor who plays the dorky kid. First saw him on Disney’s Even Stephens and then in Constantine as the sidekick. I think he’s pretty good.

It’s got to be the timber of the voice actor. There’s a couple of voice actors out there that make me go all shivery:
– James Lyon, a.k.a. Jamieson Price – he also voiced Nobutsuna Naoe on Mirage of Blaze; and
– Keith David – he voiced Goliath in the Gargoyles ‘toons.
Funny bit of trivia. Peter Cullen, who voiced Optimus Prime in the movie, also voices Eeyore for lots of Winnie the Pooh programs. How’s that for a dichotomy?

Mirage of Blaze…drool.
And the guy who’s done several voices, including the lead in Big O (not that kind, get your minds out of the gutters).
Brendan Fraser in George of the Jungle…did anyone else get hot when he was out there with the horses, or was it just me?
As for the live-action TC movie, on that site you will find it was almost rated NC-17 due to two scenes… one in which Chettera comes out of stasis in heat, and newly grown Lion-o is there to take care of it; and Panthro and Tigra and something about tossing salad.
I think I’m kinda glad this didn’t get released, but man, I’d love to see it one night at like 3 am with a bunch of drunk friends!

I’m so glad to see I’m not alone in my irrational lusting after a robot. Optimus Prime rocked my world! And Shia wasn’t too bad either.
