Hi guys, we’re all moved in now, and my house is fabulous dahhlings!!

I have limited access to the internet, but hopefully, I should be up and running by the end of today, if not then hopefully, tomorrow.

I finally counted the number of physical books that I own, and the final count was 1850+ books, e-books not included. So quite a healthy number methinks.

Keeper box1 (click on all the photos to see large version)

Keeper Box 2

Memory Lane – yes that’s a Diana Palmer book, *shudder*

No organisation whatsoever

My much depleted SVH collection. boo-hoo-hoo!

I thought I’d packed all my books, then I found these under the bed!

Some more books…

    E-books, ladies, e-books!

After purging all the old-school Nancy Drews, I have my physical books down to 1.5 shelves now. Of course, the purge happened AFTER the last move, so the buddies who helped me move weren’t impressed.

You know, the post and the pictures really drive one point home, and I hope some of the yahoo’s out there take note.

Readers often gobble up books, meaning they are well-versed in what they feel makes a good book…and what doesn’t. Especially in their favorite genre.

To ever, ever, ever trivialize and degrade their opinions, well that’s just horseshit. Writer’s like that have way over-inflated egos. They’ve bought their own hype, most often created by THEMSELVES.

    ‘Nuff said.

Oh thank GOD you’re mostly back, Karen! It was getting boring having to think interesting thoughts for myself all week. (Did anyone else hear crickets?)

LOL, that looks like my previous book pile. I used to have more boxes of books than kitchenware. I had to make room for the babies, though… I think I’m down to the top 50 books. Sob. My bed looks so empty without my books to hold it up.

    Glad you’re back!

Congratulations on the new home, Karen. And don’t overdo it; I know moving is one of the most tasking of tasks there is!

What’s this? No “Where’s Waldo?” LOL

    Congratulations on completing the move!

I covet those old Silhouette romances. I can never get enough of old categories.

I hope your boxes donb’t multiply like bunnies they way I do when we moved.

Boxes eat towels and multiply over night. I kid you not. At least my boxes do.

    Hope the move went well~

That SVH collection brings back old (depressingly old) memories for me! God knows I may even still have some of those very same ones myself; I have tons of boxes filled with books in storage that I’ve never unpacked since moving out of my parents’ house many moons ago. lol

Congrats on the move! As for your TBR…try shifting 2,000+ books like I did last year…I still have bins of books to unpack and I’ve been here a year! LOL

I have to unpack everything within the first 24 hours (I usually just work straight through) or ti doesn’t get done. it’s exhausting but at least it’s a clean straight cut. *G*

I had to laugh at this comment Jewell. The number of people who assume that I’m anti-romance is quite amusing.

    Yay, Karen’s back!

Impressive amounts of books, and I noticed that you have Sharon Sala’s Annie & The Outlaw. That’s one of my all time fave books.

Wah…I was holding my breath hoping I’d see one of my books in your pile. Ahh well…someday…lol!

PS: I moved a few months ago and my brother vowed to never help me again because of the fifty or sixty boxes of books. (Not all books I’ve read…I get a lot of author copies of my books and never know what to do with them, so I have at least one case of every book!)

moving was kind of like that for me, too, last time, despite selling off or donating every book I could bear to let go of. sympathies on having to move all that stuff!

I only have three shelves worth after our last move but my hubby has three BOOKSHELVES worth (not including piles and piles of paper) No fun to move it all. Hope you like your new place and stay for a while!!
