I don’t want to believe it.

    Dammit.

  • HOLY SHIT! Un-freaking-real!

  • Now that’s just plain sad. Way too young.

  • I heard. Found dead of an apparent overdose at first appearance. Sad.

  • The news just came through on one of my e-mail loops and my first response was, “I hope this is some kind of sick urban legend.” Looks like it’s the real deal, and that’s just so damn depressing. I can’t be the only one thinking about his baby girl….

  • I was completely shocked when I first saw this.

Oh, this is such a tragedy. He was a beautiful and talented actor. My heart goes out to his little girl. God, I can’t believe it.

  • Noooooo! I cannot believe it! What an absolute tragedy. From the moment I saw him in The Patriot I’ve thought he was utterly beautiful.

    So so sad!

Don’t know if my last comment made it in or not. My old laptop is acting up.
God. I’m just so sad this has happened. I saw it on CNN and wanted to connect (Karen! I knew you’d have something about it!).
So stupid and so needless. I hope some of young Hollywood will learn from this.

No real reason to post again. Just crying and still stunned.

  • I didn’t believe this when I heard. He was such a talent. My heart goes out to his little girl who will grow up without her father. He’s the Joker in the new Batman movie coming out this summer and watching it will make me so sad. May he rest in peace.

  • I know. I can’t…I have no words.

Katrina and I were talking about this, and she said it reminded her of the shock over River Phoenix’s death. I agree.

And after Brad Renfro’s death just last week…

Exactly, Kaleigh! I’ve been feeling sick to my stomach since I first heard.

  • I couldn’t believe it. Obviously I didn’t know him but I almost feel like I lost a friend since he was the inspiration for one of Anne and my fav characters. 🙁

  • Oh no!!!!!!

  • This breaks my heart and it made me remember the shock of River Phoenix, too. I wonder how many of us used him as inspiration in our manuscripts. I posted about the very same thing earlier. This is so sad.

I didn’t hear about this until Countdown with Keith Olberman on MSNBC. They said that HL was suffering (or recovering) from pneumonia; according to police reports, the death appears to be accidental.
SO SAD, but no sadder than all the young military people killed and injured over the last years.

  • TMZ.com is reporting that he had pneumonia and both his family and the police are saying it is apparently NOT a suicide.

    So sad.

  • I feel so sorry for his baby girl. She’ll never know her father.

What a shame. He was so good in Brokeback Mountain.

  • This is SO very sad. He was such an amazing talent. My thoughts are with his family and little girl.

  • Such an amazing talent and appeared to be a great easy going approachable actor. May he rest in peace.

  • I saw this on the news last night. How very sad; he was too young to go 🙁

I couldn’t believe it when I heard the news. He’s so young.

The comment thingy remembered my name… cool.

  • I have followed Ledger’s career off and on since Roar, a show on Fox in the US. My reaction was the same as Karen’s when I saw the news online yesterday. He was so very young. My heart goes out to his family.

This is just so sad. And it does seem a bit suspicious. I mean, as far as Hollywood people go, this boy really seemed to have his head on straight. I don’t think I ever saw any crazy stuff coming from his corner. Just awful.
