Oh How Wonderful…

A 12-year-old panda, evacuated from the earthquake-stricken Wolong panda research centre in China’s Sichuan province, has given birth to two cubs.

The cubs were the first pandas to be born in 2008.

The first baby, born on Sunday morning, was taken away by staff members for measurements and other tests. The baby was said to weigh 170grams.

The second baby was born around 30 minutes later and was carried around by Guo Guo in her mouth.

The happy occasion took place in Ya’an, Sichuan province, where Guo Guo was transferred from the quake-stricken Wolong panda reserve.

Guo Guo had been frightened by the May 12 quake and had escaped from the centre but staff found her a day later and brought her back to the reserve

Gosh, they are just miracles aren’t they?

  • 🙂 Man, how tiny!

Oh my gosh! They’re so pink~~~ Awwww…I want to cuddle with one. 🙂

  • Uh . . . am I the only one who did a doubletake at that photo? At first I thought some dude out of a Ripley’s book was gripping his mutant, two-headed, large-mouthed trouser snake!

  • K.Z., you are not alone! Of course, I read the review of the McKenna work first, so my mind was definitely in the gutter…

  • I thought they were a couple of penises at first. LOL
Pretty neat how those little pandas can be so cute and so ugly at the same time.
I can’t believe how small they are! Wow.
