Well, Lincoln’s all the rage at the moment, so why not?

As I would not be a slave, so I would not be a master. This expresses my idea of democracy.
Abraham Lincoln

A wise man.

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Hmmm, anybody would think he’d met one of the higher-ups from NCP.

The following quote is quite thought-provoking:

I don’t like that man. I must get to know him better.

I really love this one:

Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.

I’ll leave you with one of his more famous quotes:

Fourscore and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

I’ll drink to that Mr Lincoln.

  • I hope you don’t mind if I post my own favorite Lincoln quote…

“Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.”

I used this quote to teach my teens about the importance of character.
