Of course I got lots of other great gifts, including a fabulous Ted Baker vanity case from my brother and SIL, and lots of fabulous new-to-me perfumes, but the European version of the Sony Reader was definitely a highlight. The Reader also came with 100 free classic books, including Great Expectations, Wuthering Heights, Aesops Fables (which I’m loving reading by the way), Pride and Prejudice, etc, etc.
What was the best present you received this Christmas?

Ooh, ooh, ooh, I got a Sony too, and I love love love it! I also got a wireless mouse for my laptop–not a big ticket item, but still pretty damn awesome. A filing cabinet, a storage bench–lots of practical things I needed anyway. I’m the pragmatic type.
Best thing, though, was my parents and kids all together for Christmas morning. 🙂

My DH gave me this ring that is oh, man, to die for. Prettiest thing I’ve ever seen.

A lovely Seiko watch, chocolate, a Kitchen Aid Artisan stand mixer (still drooling about this one, had been wanting one for over a decade), chocolate, B&N gift certificate, chocolate, L’Occitane gift certificate, chocolate… did I mention chocolate? 😉

Hubby got me Love Actually in widescreen (they didn’t seem to sell it anywhere in widescreen for some reason) and he was this close to buying me a PS3. Alas, reason overcame me and I stopped him, but it was definitely the thought that counted. We used the money to get presents for our Moms and a DS Lite for our son. Happy Christmas was had by all.
So Karen, does that mean we should be sending your Sony formatted books instead of pdfs? 🙂 Happy reading, my world totally changed when I stole hubby’s phone for an ereader!

My dh got me one in September, as an early, early, early Christmas present, and although that meant I didn’t get anything from him on the day, it’s still my favourite present.
I completely love the reader itself, but haven’t yet bought a book for it: the Waterstones’ site makes it difficult to search for ebooks, and, when I do bother to search, never seems to have the book I’m looking for.
That can be my new year’s resolution, to actually manage to buy it a book…

Three days with my granddaughters, making cookies, watching tv, playing cards.
On another note, I’ve had my Sony reader nearly three years and still love it.

Ooh! I got a sony too, only I got it about a month ago as a birthday/christmas present. BIL gave me “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid” (a personal fave), and Oldest Sis and Best Friend both contributed to the Christmas Tattoo Fund. It was a good christmas.

Oooh, TTG rocks!! Just sayin. I’ve got $100 to spend online on books, though. Yipee! I didn’t have a whole lot on my wish list this year, so we splurged on the boys instead.

Ohhh a sony reader! I’m so green! I got a Flip video camera. I’m a tech moron and this little camera is so simple even an idiot like me can shoot, edit and upload a video to the net in two shakes of a lamb’s tail. Oh I also got a Borders gift card. Books and more glorious books!

My brother and his partner gave me a self-cleaning litter box just yesterday. I haven’t set it up yet because I’m going out of town this weekend and would rather the cat has a chance to get the hang of it while I’m still around – but I think my kittie is going to be thrilled!

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, dam I wish I had a smile as nice as Barrack Obama.
Anyway, Karen congrats on your Xmas gifts! I got a box of cigars, some shoes, shirts, a few art prints and a very special present from my wife which I can’t describe in mixed company, lol. Overall I racked up pretty nicely this year.
