(Well, only sometimes–most often I read. But you guys knew that.)

This one, however, I blame on Crazy Aunt Purl, who recently posted the most darling images of knitted baby sweaters.

So of course I had to try my hand at it 😀

As for the the help part… which color buttons do you think I should use?

This:

Sweater 1or this:

Sweater 2

(man, I take really crappy pictures, don’t I? sorry…)

  • I like the dark buttons best. However, I am fashion stupid, so hopefully others will weigh in. Cute sweater!

    I agree…the dark buttons best.

  • The dark buttons, I think. They highlight the texture of the yarn.

(Hey, nice to know you’re a knitter, too. One of the reasons I’m loving e-books more and more is because I can knit and read, thus make double use of my minimal leisure time!)

  • That is a darling sweater! I did baby blankets. I know, it can be very relaxing. I love the contrast of the dark buttons.

That sweater is so cute. I love it with the dark buttons, they show up so much better.

To go with the crowd, I vote the darker buttons as well.
Though I think it is more of a size thing, the smaller clear ones don’t stand out as much, might look better if bigger.

  • I guess you don’t need another vote… but I definitely prefer the dark buttons, too! The sweater is beautiful, by the way.

I’m with Shiloh. I prefer the lighter ones.

I envy all of you knitters, by the way. I’ve gotta take a class and learn how to do it myself one of these days.

I like the lighter ones, because you spent the time on the knitting, not the buttons, the dark buttons are what is noticed on the sweater… light buttons, I notice the knitting…

my personal opinion… I am the same way when I do tile work.(my newest hobby). I never use a contrasting grout because I want the tile to be noticed, not the 20 bucks in grout..

I want one too, but I think the lighter ones but bigger, they fade into the yarn, maybe white instead of clear.

  • I’d go for the lighter buttons. Gorgeous little cardigans. I can’t knit, sew or do anything of a crafty nature. I’m in awe of those who can.

  • Aww, what a cute sweater! I like the darker ones, but I really like big buttons on kids sweaters. If the lighter ones were big, I’d probably like those too.

You’re making my fingers itch, and I supposedly don’t have time to do my knitting right now…must…resist…

  • I take crappier pictures than you, so don’t complain. 😉 I love the jumper and I like the dark buttons best.

  • I like the light buttons, but the big size.
So, ya know, if you have more buttons to choose from… 🙂

  • That’s an absolutely adorable sweater! And I love the lighter buttons because it’s more ‘baby’ like.

    What a darling sweater!

I vote for the darker buttons…it makes it a bit dressier.

  • Thank you, ladies! You are most kind.

I have to confess that I’m absolutely in love with the sweater myself. It’s so tiny! (It’s been sixteen plus years since I held a newborn, so now I’m wondering if any baby would fit in it)

The votes seem to be almost evenly divided, with requests for bigger light buttons (which I may have in my stash–note to self: go look).
