2011 New Year’s Resolution Update…

Well seeing as we’re now past the half-way point of the year, I wanted to see how my resolutions were holding up:
1. Get pregnant and stay pregnant (I know I don’t have much of a say in this, but I may as well aim high eh?)
I managed it. It didn’t last long. Will keep trying.
2. Be less tolerant of stupid people (Seriously, I have been much nicer than usual this year. I have!)
I think I’ve managed this one quite nicely. See my various Twitter Fights with a various assortment of imbeciles, parading as human beings.
3. Buy more books and actually read them (2010 has been my worst year for reading yet)
Erm….moving on swiftly… (Although, I have bought lots of books, and my TBR shelf is officially out of control.)
4. Have two major holidays this year, instead of just one (US and one other, subject to TTG)
Well, we’ve been to Portugal, which isn’t exactly a major holiday, but we’re going to Miami, and the Florida Keys in September. Oh, and we’re also going on little mini-breaks when we can. We’re going to Scotland this week.
5. Visit at least two of my friends who live abroad
I’m planning a trip to Italy next year to see my friend Diana…
6. Blog at least three times a week (baby steps people, baby steps)
Started off ok, then life and Twitter took over again. Twitter’s great because I can do it anywhere. On the train, in the bath, in the middle of a conference. Blogging for me, is something I can seemingly only do on a laptop first thing in the morning.
7. Buy at least one pair of shoes or a handbag every month
I think I can safely say that I’ve managed to achieve this. *g*
8. Travel by First Class a lot more often (Travelling Peasant Class makes me rather angry)
Where possible, I travel First Class on the train now. Planes don’t matter so much.
9. Spend as much time with my family and friends as possible and call my best friends at least once a month
Yep, and myself and Ma Bitches get together at least once a month for a girly night, which has been fabulous.
10.Be happy.
Once number one happens, (twice would be nice) my life really will be complete:)

I’ve stuck to my writing-related resolutions, but I haven’t managed to write two blog posts per week. And I still haven’t read ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’. Thankfully, there are a few months left in 2011.

As everyone else is, I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that #1 is achieved this year! I’m doing ok with mine – my biggest was to start exercising again, and I’m doing well with it. Too bad I haven’t lost any weight, though.
Oh, and I don’t know what your schedule looks like, but I’ll be working in London 10 July – 22 July. So if we can squeeze in a dinner or something, that would be lovely!
