Are There Any Authors Pleased With Their E-Publishers?

I spend a fair amount of time reporting about authors who are unhappy with their publishers, so I’m gonna open up the blog to any authors who are happy with their e-pubs.

So roll-up, roll-up, are any of you lot out there actually happy writing for your current e-pub, if so, why, and what have they done for you lately?

  • I’ll be honest.

I’m very pleased with Ravenous Romance and Decadent Publishing. They’ve treated me like a rockstar since day one. They both pay on time, do excellent promo for me and I can email about anything and they will respond ASAP and fix the issue. I also had my highest royalties to date with both these publishers.

My editor at Decadent kicks my ass hard while we edit to the point I’m in the corner rocking because she pushes me so hard.

  • I write for Resplendence, Amber Quill Press, Total-E-Bound and eXtasy and am very pleased with all of them. They make sure to pay on time and are very approachable.

I’ve had books with one pub that folded (eh) and also Lyrical Press and Noble Romance. Noble was a fail but Lyrical has had pretty consistant editing, they’re responsive, no problems with royalties and they seem to have a tight business model.

  • I’ve been with Amber Quill Press since 2006 and I’m quite pleased with them. They’re small and can’t do everything, but they do exactly what they say they’ll do.

  • I published nine books with Loose Id and am delightedwith them. Editing was superb andr reasonable. Communication was open. Books came out when they said they would, checks were always on time. I can’t praise them enough.

  • I must admit, I’ve never really heard anything negative about Amber Quill and Loose Id. To date.

  • I’ve been with Whispers for years and never had a problem. They pay on time, promote well and answer concerns professionally. Ellora’s Cave has also never given me a problem and pays on time, though I have heard some have had such.

  • My editor at Carina was excellent to work with — which doesn’t mean she went easy on me! — and I recently found out my Carina book will be part of Carina’s paperback subscription program. Dunno yet how sales are since Carina doesn’t have a monthly royalty schedule like some other digi pubs. Samhain’s royalties and paperwork is always prompt and timely.

  • I can’t complain about EC or Samhain.

  • I second Roz’s comments about Loose-Id. A very professional enterprise with good communication between parties as well as great editors.

  • I love working with Samhain and Carina. My questions are answered quickly and professionally. They do some great marketing, the editing is awesome (and tough of course).

  • EC and Loose Id are both great to work with and very supportive of their authors.
Most of all I appreciate the editing. With the larger epubs it can be a bit of a lottery, who your editor is, so either I’ve been hugely lucky or other people have been unlucky. But my editors at both houses have ripped my books to shreds, if they think it deserves it and made me improve and refine.
I would say Samhain, because I’ve had great experiences with them, but I’ve just been assigned a new editor, who so far seems well up to Samhain’s high standards.
Total Ebound are another good house, very supportive, great editing.

  • I’m totally late to the party, but I love working with both Amber Quill and Carina. I’ve pubbed 10 books with Amber Quill and they’ve always been on time with payments, I’ve been happy with the editing for the most part and just overall in general find working with them a super smooth process from beginning to end. I’ve done two books with Carina and am contracted for two more and their editing is by far the best I’ve ever experienced. Sales are on par or above what I make at my other publishers and have so far (only 2 payment periods in for me) have been on time and accurate. I have zero complaints whatsoever.
