Dee’s sister Daphnee died unexpectedly just a week ago, orphaning four children under 16 years of age.

As Dee explains over at her blog, a death in the family not only wrecks emotional havoc–more so when it’s sudden–but also upsets the often precarious financial balance of a household.

We all know that it is not easy for the immense majority of us right now, but you can help Dee and her family, even with just a little bit.

Godspeed, Daphnee, we are keeping you in our thoughts and your family in our prayers.

I’d just like to extend a heart-felt final thanks to everybody who participated in the Sharon Cullars fund-raiser. From those who donated money, books, and time, to those who posted the information on their blogs, I was really blown away by the great response from all of you.

We managed to raise just over $5000 in just a month for Sharon, which is truly amazing.

You guys really do rock all kinds of wonderful.

A special shout-out to Crystal Hubbard, who not only donated generously, but went above and beyond by organising door to door sales of kettlecorn to raise even more money for Sharon. What made this even more incredible was that she herself had been battling cancer. Crystal Hubbard, here at KKB, we salute you.

Another special shout-out to Alison Kent, who not only donated some fab books for the auction, but was instrumental in helping with the set-up of the auction site. Thanks muchly Alison.

I’d like to also say thanks to a certain Paperback Writer who donated $200 to the cause, despite probably being bombarded with requests all the time.

And a personal thanks from me to Dorothy Koomson, who after seeing that I’d parted with her fantabulous books, wrote to me, requesting my address, so that she could send me signed copies of the books that I’d donated. Too wonderful for words.

Finally, I’d like to say a huge thanks to the ladies who put in so much work to make this happen, Roslyn Holcomb, and Emma Petersen, really put in the hours to try to help out a fellow author. You guys are simply wonderful.

There are obviously a lot more people to thank, and so a more comprehensive list can be found here.

Anyway, from ferrets, to Katrina, to diabetes, you Romanceland Babes really are the best at taking care of your own, and long may it continue.

So, hurry and place your bids here. There are still book bundles, e-books, the chance to have a cameo in a couple of upcoming books etc still available.

Also, the Sharon Cullars Chip-In fund-raiser ends today, so for any last-minute donations go here, or click on the link below.

Thanks muchly!

So I decided to add a few of my books to the Sharon Cullars E-bay auction:

Dorothy Koomson Stand-alones (more…)

Let me take this opportunity to thank all the people who donated stuff for this auction, without you guys, it wouldn’t have been possible, so a heartfelt thanks from myself, Emma Petersen, and Roslyn Holcomb.

Thank you Romanceland, thank you so very much.

Now go and buy, buy, buy!!

Thanks again to everybody who donated to Sharon Cullar’s Chip In fundraiser. So far, we’ve managed to raise $2,720, that’s just wonderful.

Unfortunately, we’re a little off the target that Sharon needs to help her stay in her home, so some of Sharon’s friends are organising an E-bay Auction to help raise the rest of the funds required.

With this in mind, we need freebies from bloggers, authors, editors, publishers, web designers, so if you have items to donate – books or book baskets/collections, critiques, ARCs of upcoming releases, review spreads, mentoring opportunities, web or promotional material design work etc., please email the item description to Roslyn Holcombe at roslynholcomb @ mac.com (no spaces).

You guys have been amazing so far, and I think it would be fabulous if we could do something this important for one of our own.

If any of you still want to donate to the Chip In Fund, you can do so here. All donations will be gratefully received.

Or simply click on the Chip In Icon below.

Once again, please feel free to copy and paste, and post this info onto your respective blogs, the more people know about this, the more successful we’ll be I’m sure.

Thanks again for the wonderful effort so far.

Edited to add:

The auction starts tomorrow, so if you want the chance to buy some great stuff, please click, here.

You guys are so amazing, this is absolutely fantastic!

I’d like to give a special shout-out to author, Crystal Hubbard, who not only donated generously, but also, she and her kids went door-to-door selling kettlecorn, and raised an additional $300.

Talk about amazing!

Thanks so much once again, and for those people who haven’t donated yet, but want to, the deadline is 29th January, so you still have time.
