Seriously?

Sorry I haven’t blogged in a while, but life tends to get in the way a bit.

Anyway, I’m interrupting my unintentional blogging hiatus to share my incredulity at the following:

Firstly, I’m reading a Lena Matthews book, where one of the secondary characters is called MeShell. Seriously? (Does the fact that she’s a drag queen make a difference?)

Secondly, what the fuck is going on with that crazy fuckwit over at StopGRBullies? Outing Goodreads reviewers, whilst pretending she’s the seeker of truth and justice? Say whaat? She seems to think that she’s sticking it to the mean girls, but as with that Cindy Whatsherface from a few years ago who wanted to teach us mean girls a lesson, she seems to be under the illusion that what she’s doing is for the good of the Goodreads community. Somehow, she’s failed to grasp that what she’s doing is soooo much worse than readers leaving negative or slice and dice reviews. Here at KKB, we understand that the bint over at StopGRBullies is the real bully in this tale. A cowardly one at that. Doctor heal thyself much?

Here’s a post from from one of her victims.

Seriously?

UPDATED TO ADD:

For a rather beautifully articulated OP on the above, head on over to Dear Author, but for Oprah’s sake, watch out for the batshit loony wankers defecating all over the comments section.

I’ve been on the internet long enough now that surely nothing should surprise me, but honestly, the depravity of some people is beyond the pale.

Footballer, Fabrice Muamba collapsed on the football pitch on Saturday, after suffering a heart attack. This happened in the middle of a game.

It seemed that everybody and his wife took to Twitter to extend their fervent hope that he would be ok. Whilst normal folk were left reeling by this incident, a couple of people devoid of any humanity, took to Twitter and used the incident as an excuse to hurl racist abuse and wish death upon him.

I want to know, what kind of mind would tweet this kind of abuse? (more…)

It never fails to amaze me at how the most hateful people in this world are usually the most religious. They cling to their religious beliefs and commit the most heinous acts in the name of God.

It’s ironic that the truly good people who’s paths I’ve crossed had no religious affiliations.

My heart goes out to the family of the people who were murdered in cold blood by Anders Brehing Breivik, in Norway.

I can just imagine the number of people who read that heading and assumed I was talking about them.

But, as it happens, I’m talking about this from Perez Hilton’s blog:

That yucky Austrian saga of Josef Fritzl, the man who held his daughter prisoner in a basement cell for 24-years and fathered seven of her children, is being turned into a play.

Srsly!

A Vienna, Austria-based theater will stage the ‘satiric soap opera’ called Fritzl’s Bed and Breakfast starting February 23rd.

According to reports, the production’s director is Hubsi Kramar, a well-known Austrian standup comedian who caused a stir when he tried to attend Vienna’s Opera Ball dressed as Adolf Hitler.

That’s a play we definitely don’t want to see!

There are some seriously sick people out there, and I’m not just talking about that evil bastard, Joseph Fritzl.

Thanks to Katiebabs via AL for the heads up.

SickFic? WTF?

I admit to being quite ignorant of this genre, or whatever you call it, but apparently it’s very popular in Internet Land.

According to Lee Goldberg, SickFic is when net people write about public figures, and well-known celebs, either getting it on, and engaging in other bizarre sexual exploits, or being subjected to other people’s sick fantasies about them. For instance, (tame examples coming up!) Brad Pitt having monkey sex with George Clooney, or Christina Aguilera being gang-banged by New Kids On The Block.

Apparently this is widely accepted. Who knew?

Anyway, over here in good old England, prosecutors aren’t putting up with it. The Daily Telegraph reports:

A civil servant has been charged by police for allegedly writing a blog about the kidnap and murder of members of the pop band Girls Aloud.

Darryn Walker, 35, from Newcastle, is being prosecuted under the Obscene Publications Act, in one of the most significant cases on censorship since the controversy over the DH Lawrence novel, Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

Most police inquiries under obscenity laws now involve pornographic images in magazines or on DVDs.

This is the one of the first cases involving the written word in recent years and is expected to be the first test of the law since pornographic material became widely available on the internet.

Mr Walker is accused of posting a comment on a fantasy pornographic website which allegedly described the kidnap, mutilation, rape and murder of Girls Aloud members Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh.

It was headlined “Girls (Scream) Aloud” and is said to have run to the equivalent of 12 pages.

I mean how fucked up would you have to be to even feel the need to write anything so vile? Surely people who spew this kind of venom are only a few steps away from acting out their sick fantasies?

People will argue that it’s no different to an author who writes about serial killers etc, but I think that’s a load of utter bollocks. This is not only obsession in, the worst sense of the word, but it also borders on psychotic, and anybody who thinks it’s ok to write such vile and venomous things about other real-life human beings, who have done them no harm, seriously needs their head examining.

I think people who go this far, really should serve time in jail. Even celebrities deserve protection from this type of thing.

What say you?
